Engine problems

my direct is having problems!!
basically when I start the car, exhaust smokes like a chimney on idle(white/heavysmoke)
if i run my finger on inside of exhaust tips pretty sure its unburnt fuel
when i turn it off there is still white/grey smoke seeping out
EML is on, pretty sure it is not water vapour
any ideas would be great
would a knackered coil pack lead to this?
