Little hole in the thermostat housing....

Hi folks,

I've a small question. There's a little hole in the housing on the pic below. I think this is to maintain a flow through the blok when tstat and heater are closed.
The waterpump keeps on pumping so you need an open circuit to prevent over pressure after the waterpump. Well... thats what I think.

Now I'm gonna make another waterpipe/neck so my turbo will have a better fitment and this little hole is my only concern. Can I just reroute it with a littel pipe into my new...
